Intaglio (Collagraph & drypoint) - Workshops & Shop
In this class you will have an introduction to Intaglio printing, the wonderful technique of printing from the recesses instead of the surface as you would in lino printing. This can be done by drawing into the surface or building up textures on the plate. You will learn the technique in a relaxed atmosphere and go away with a set of lovely prints. We will experiment with printing on both paper and fabric, both of which can be used for a multitude of projects at a later date. I will provide all materials and an apron, but it's probably a good idea to wear old clothes, just in case!
We will stop mid-morning for refreshments and cake. Please bring a packed lunch with you.
The session runs from 10am - around 4pm. It would be useful to arrive at 9.45 if possible to settle in before we begin.
I have many reference books to inspire you with your design, but it would save you time on the day if you have some ideas or photos with you of designs you might like to create.
